Jackets Head to Florida for USF adidas Invitational

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech softball team (17-4) will put its 11-game winning streak on the line this Thursday as the Yellow Jackets travel to Clearwater, Fla., for the USF adidas Invitational, March 9-12. Tech will open tournament play against Michigan State (1 p.m.) and South Florida (6 p.m.) on Thursday.

The Yellow Jackets won their second tournament championship last weekend at the Atlanta Marriott Buzz Classic (Buzz Classic and Lady Panther Invitational) with three victories on Sunday over South Dakota State, 8-1, Radford, 6-4, and NC State, 7-1, in the title game. Tech averaged 9.0 runs per game in the tournament and led the tourney in batting with a .408 average.

The Jackets lead the Atlantic Coat Conference in every offensive category, with the exception of triples, boasting a team batting average of .346 and slugging 20 home runs thus far.
