Riding a three-game win streak, Georgia Tech enters Sunday’s game off a win at Michigan State to conclude the ACC/Big Ten Challenge series. For the second straight game, Bianca Jackson posted 20-plus points to lead Georgia Tech to victory. The Montgomery, Ala., native finished with 22 points at MSU, while teammate Cameron Swartz added 17 to the scoreboard.

Belmont has played a challenging schedule to open the season, facing three top-25 opponents in seven games. A hot-shooting team, Destinee Wells leads the Bruins offensively at 14.7 points per game. She is one of three averaging double-figures on the season. Madison Bartley led the way for Belmont in the first meeting against GT with 22 points.

In the first meeting against Belmont last week, Jackson contributed a game-high 24 points in the win. Tech led 29-17 at halftime, but Belmont dominated the third quarter, 22-7, to hold the lead entering the final period. Belmont led by five points with 3:05 remaining in the game before Georgia Tech used a 13-2 run over the final minutes to take the win.

Georgia Tech extended its lead in the all-time series against Belmont to 3-0 with a victory in the Gulf Coast Showcase. Sunday’s matchup will mark the first at Belmont since the series began in 1998. The first two meetings took place in Atlanta.

Competitive Drive Initiative

In a unified endeavor, Georgia Tech, the Georgia Tech Foundation, Georgia Tech athletics and the Alexander-Tharpe Fund have come together to accelerate funding for student-athlete scholarships with the launch of the Competitive Drive Initiative. The initiative kicks off with the Accelerate GT Match Program, where any new gift to the A-T Fund’s Athletic Scholarship Fund made through Dec. 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Georgia Tech Foundation, up to $2.5 million. Should Accelerate GT reach its $2.5 million fundraising goal, the matching gift would result in a $5 million impact for Georgia Tech athletics.
