THE FLATS – Infants and toddlers will take center stage the weekend of Jan. 19-20 when Georgia Tech’s basketball teams host Louisville and Syracuse at McCamish Pavilion. The basketball competition will be stiff, but the halftime shows will be just as intense.
Halftime of the Yellow Jackets’ men’s game against Louisville (4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19), will be the scene of the McCamish Pavilion’s first Diaper Derby, where infants under the age of 12 months will stage a race on Cremins Court. Part two of the weekend competition, the Toddler Trot, comes Sunday, Jan. 20, when the women host Syracuse (2 p.m.), and kids under the age of two will be competing.
Competitors in each race will be vying for a $250 gift card for first place, a $100 gift card for second place, and a $50 gift card for third place. Each competitor each day will receive two complimentary tickets to that game. Kids 18 and under will be admitted free to Sunday’s women’s game.
Kids and babies must be accompanied by two adults on the court for each game. Fans wishing to register their child for either game should register on ramblinwreck.com/babyrace. Fans will be contacted on January 16 with more details if they have been selected to participate.
