THE FLATS – Georgia Tech sophomore diver Brad Homza finished seventh in the men’s 3-meter diving finals Friday night at the 2015 ACC Swimming & Diving Championship. Homza scored 306.80 in the finals after posting a score of 358.20 in the afternoon prelims.
Tech’s women’s swimming & diving team remains in 11th place with 137 points.
North Carolina overtook Virginia for the lead through xx events. The Tar Heels have 862 points, while the Cavaliers have 839.5 points. Virginia Tech is in third with 664.5 points, followed by Louisville with 641 and NC State with 589.
In the first event of the morning, junior Frederique Lefebvre posted a time of 4:28.16 in the 400 individual medley, missing the cut for the C finals by 1.43 seconds.

Morgan Lyons, Kate Brandus and Megan Young all competed in the 100 butterfly prelims. The freshman Lyons (35th) posted Tech’s fastest time at 56.26, followed by Brandus in 37th at 56.93 and Young in 39th at 57.14.
Italian sophomore Chiara Ruiu made the C finals of the 200 freestyle, finishing 24th in the prelims with a time of 1:49.39. She finished 21st overall with a time of 1:49.43. Junior Sarah Williford finished 34th with a 1:53.17 clip.
Four swimmers competed in the 100 breaststroke prelims. Sophomore Maddie Paschal led the Yellow Jackets with a time of 56.18, finishing 32nd overall. Young (56.65), sophomore Xanna Tracy (56.96) and junior Carly Sweeney (57.50) finished 40th, 42nd and 44th, respectively.
In the morning’s final swimming prelim, junior Efrat Rotsztjen finished 27th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:04.02. Senior Catherine Richards finished 32nd with a time of 1:06.39.
The fourth and final day of the 2015 ACC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. Doors at the GT Aquatic Center will open at 9 a.m. Below is the schedule of events for the final day:
