Divar Advances to Main Draw off Two-Win Day Four

Oct. 3, 2017

Final Qualifying Bracket

TULSA, Okla. – Georgia Tech sophomore Carlos Divar will enter the ITA All-American Championships main draw after securing two wins on Tuesday, Sept. 3 in the qualifying singles play.

Divar started the day by taking on Tulane’s Ewan Moore in the morning sessions. Despite having to move from outdoor courts to the indoor facility due to inclement weather, Divar stayed steady and made easy work of the match, earning the 6-1, 6-4 victory and advancing to the afternoon matchups.

Later in the day, two Atlantic Coast Conference foes squared off with Divar facing Parker Wynn of Louisville. In a seesaw, back-and-forth affair, Divar began by taking a hard-fought, 6-4 first before falling in the second set, 4-6.

The Yellow Jacket continued his consistent play from earlier in qualifiers and was able to hold on, taking the third and final set, 6-3, to secure his spot moving forward.

The remaining field will now take a day off before beginning main draw action on Thursday, Oct. 5. Divar’s first-round main draw matchup will be announced on Sept. 4.
