ATLANTA – Construction has begun on the new softball locker room and team building which will sit behind the indoor batting cages at Mewborn Field. Work on the 6,500 square foot facility will be done in time for the start of the 2011 season.

The building will include a locker room, team lounge area, video room, meeting room, umpire’s locker room, training room and equipment storage. There will also be a satellite office and locker room for the coaches.

As a follow-up to the award-winning Mewborn Field, the Georgia Tech Athletic Association decided to utilize the teamwork of Rosser International as the architect and Barton Mallow Construction for the project. The duo built the existing Mewborn Field which will be entering its third season and has been showcased on ESPN in each of the last two years.

Check back to this page in the next few months for updates and photos on the progress.
