THE FLATS – Keshav Chopra wrapped an undefeated run at the MLK Invitational in his three singles matches and his three doubles matches with Pablo Schelcher.
Chopra/Schelcher defeated Gollin/Hashimoto of Coloumbia 6-3 to wrap up their unblemished weekend.
“We’re doing great things together. We’re complementing each other really well and communicating much better. I think it’s paying off and showing on the court,” Schelcher said.
Going into singles action, if Chopra won his match he would win the singles title as well. He wasted no time against Ben Gollin of Columbia taking the match 6-2, 6-1.
Two more Yellow Jackets matches took place on Monday and both had equally dominating results. In doubles action, Andres Martin and Chen Dong handled business against Kiger/Murphy of UNC 6-3. Martin took to the court for singles action against Jayden Templeman of Columbia, securing a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
The first dual meet of the season is Friday, Jan. 21, against Georgia State at 5:00 p.m. at Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
