Yellow Jackets Open Play at Summer Circuit Championships Saturday

Aug. 6, 2010

ATLANTA – Viet Ha Ngo and Elizabeth Kilborn of the Georgia Tech Women’s Tennis team will compete at the 2010 ITA National Collegiate Summer Circuit Championships beginning Saturday on the Indiana University campus.

The ITA/USTA National Summer Championships are the pinnacle of the ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit, which was played at 32 regional sites throughout the country last month. A total of 2,965 players participated in ITA Summer Circuit events this year, falling just short of 2009’s record-breaking mark of 2,976.

Ngo, who is seed 9-16 at this weekend’s tournament, reached the finals of the Georgia Southeast Summer Circuit event and won the Alabama Southeast Summer Circuit tournament.

Kilborn reached the semifinals of the Georgia tournament before pulling out of the event. She did not participate at the Alabama tournament.

Draws and start times for Saturday’s opening round matches will be available on the IU and ITA websites at www.iuhoosiers.com and www.itatennis.com on Friday.
