ATLANTA – The 2004-05 Georgia Tech women’s basketball team will host the Premier Players of Michael White’s EA Sports Tour Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Alexander Memorial Coliseum. The Yellow Jackets opened the season with four wins in Costa Rica during the school’s fall break and will be playing in their first home exhibition game of the season.
This season, head coach MaChelle Joseph faces the task of melding five juniors with six freshmen and a pair of sophomores in an expanded conference that returns seven teams that participated in the 2004 NCAA Tournament and two more than played in the Postseason Women’s NIT. Yellow Jackets juniors Megan Harpring, Kasha Terry and Jessica Williams have been tabbed as the captains of this season’s squad and look to have the same success on the court that they had a year ago.
The Premier Players boast a trio of former SEC players in Tennessee’s Courtney McDaniel, Florida’s Tonya Washington and Arkansas’ India Lewis while Connecticut’s Morgan Valley and Maria Conlon also compete for the team. The Premier Players also have a pair of players that played well against the Yellow Jackets a year ago in Old Dominion’s Evelina Nhassago and West Virginia’s Katie Bulger.
