THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis announced the addition of Ruth Marsh to the 2020-21 signing class.
“I am so happy that Ruth will be a part of the Georgia Tech women’s tennis family,” commented head coach Rodney Harmon. “She is a great player who will continue to grow and develop her game.”
A five-star recruit from Atlanta, Ga., Marsh attended North Springs High School and has risen as high as a UTR of 10. Marsh has competed in numerous tournaments during her junior career, most recently competing in the J1 Bradenton tournament, advancing to the second round of qualifying. Last Oct., she reached the semifinal round of the J4 Atlanta tournament, defeating four opponents, including two in straight-sets.
In August 2019, Marsh played through qualifying rounds of the J1 College Park tournament in Maryland to secure a spot in the main draw, where she advanced to the third round. She held an overall record of 20-10.
In doubles action, Marsh reached the quarterfinal round of the JB1 Nicholasville tournament last Oct. with doubles partner and fellow future Yellow Jacket, Ava Hrastar. The doubles team picked up three wins to reach the semifinals, before falling in a tiebreak. Marsh and Hrastar also paired together in the J4 Atlanta tournament in Oct.
Marsh joins a talented class of November signees in Mahak Jain and Hrastar, who will arrive on The Flats in August.
