Georgia Tech gets first round ACC Tournament action underway on Wednesday, looking to secure a place in the second round for the ninth time in program history. Tech is 8-6 when competing in the first round, dating back to 1996. The Yellow Jackets have won the last three appearances in the first round – 2018, 2017, 2015 – including its only meeting against BC in the tournament in 2017. Cameron Swartz continues to lead Georgia Tech offensively on the season, averaging 13.0 points per game.

Boston College comes into the tournament off a win at Wake Forest to snap a six-game skid prior. The Eagles boast four averaging double-figures. The Eagles are 4-9 when competing away from home, with road wins at NC State and Wake Forest. Last season, BC finished at 21-12 and 10-8 in the conference, falling to Florida State in the second round.

Georgia Tech leads the all-time series against Boston College, 15-8. The Yellow Jackets and Eagles have met once in the ACC Tournament, on March 1, 2017 with Tech taking a 71-67 decision. Tech met BC in its first conference game of the season, back on Dec. 18, dropping a 74-62 decision despite three Jackets finishing in double-figures.
