White and Gold Ready for ITA Regionals

THE FLATS – Men’s tennis continues the fall season in Gainesville, Fla. for the ITA Southeast Regionals. The five-day event starts Thursday and concludes Monday.

Most Georgia Tech tennis players will start action on Friday. No. 26 Marcus McDaniel, No. 31 Andres Martin, Keshav Chopra, Chen Dong and Pablo Schelcher begin their play at regional in the main draw on Friday. Freshman Ángel Guerrero Melgar will start his play in qualifying action on Thursday.

Thursday opens up the action with the first and second rounds of qualifying doubles and singles. Friday will have the first and second rounds of main draw doubles, first round of main draw singles and the only round of qualifying singles consolation.

Saturday is slated to have the quarterfinal round of main draw doubles, second and third rounds of main draw singles and the first and second round of main draw consolation. Sunday has the lead up to the finals before all draws having their final rounds on Monday.

Players from schools all across the southeast region will be competing at the event. Players from Florida, Georgia Tech, Central Florida, South Florida, Miami, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia State, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Mercer, North Florida and Stetson will be competing.
