Volleyball Team Captures First Match in Davidson Invitational

DAVIDSON, NC – The Georgia Tech volleyball team captured its first match in the Davidson Invitational with a 3-0 (15-3, 15-7, 15-5) defeat of UNC-Wilimington on September 1. With the win, the Jackets improved to 2-0 on the season while UNC-Wilmington falls to 0-1.

Junior Dore Pap (Budapest, Hungary) led the Jackets with seven kills, while freshman Amanda Hess (Indianapolis, Ind.) added five kills and a team-high 11 digs on the evening while junior Kyleen Bell (Rocklin, Calif.) connected for four kills on five attempts for an impressive .800 percentage for the match.

The Seahawks were led by Heather White who contributed 10 kills and eight digs.

Georgia Tech will face Georgia State on Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. match against host Davidson to conclude the tournament.
