THE FLATS – Georgia Tech volleyball and coach Michelle Collier announced the signing of libero/defensive specialist Cara Bianco to the 2022 roster on Thursday.
“I am excited for Cara to join our program,” said Collier. “She has competed at a very high level during her club and high school career and is going to bring in lots of talent and winning experience into our gym. On top of that, she’s a wonderful teammate and someone who is really going to thrive in this environment!”
Bianco comes to The Flats from Milton, Ga., where she was a four-year letter winner at libero for Blessed Trinity High School. Also serving as captain for a season, Bianco helped lead the Titans to four straight regional championships and a state championship during her sophomore year in 2019.
Individually, the talented newcomer has racked up multiple accolades as she has been named to two all-region teams, two all-state teams, the 2020 SFTC All-Tournament team and a bevy of AVCA honors such as appearances on the AVCA Phenom List three consecutive times and the all-region team, all-America list and the “Best and Brightest” team in 2021.
At the club level, Bianco has also seen many successes, earning bronze medals at the 13 Open AAU Nationals, 15 Open AAU Nationals, 17 Open AAU Nationals and 17 Open USAV Nationals.
The future Jacket’s stats reinforce her honors as she’s tallied over 1,000 career digs. Off the court, Bianco has garnered Magna Cum Laude honors in the classroom and served in her local community alongside Meals by Grace, Habitat for Humanity and the St. Peregrine Club. Bianco plans to major in business administration at Georgia Tech.
