Yellow Jackets 2.0
– If the past is any indication, head coach Michelle Collier has a penchant for making quick improvements from year one to year two.
– At Jacksonville, she took the Dolphins from a 10-24, 7-11 conference record in her first year to a 30-4, 16-2 record in A-Sun play, and earned the school’s first NCAA Tournament berth in nine years.
– Now, still with a pair matches left in 2015, Tech has surpassed its win total from last season (18) and its ACC wins from a year ago (9).
The Numbers Game
Perhaps more impressive is that fact that the Yellow Jackets are putting up better numbers than seen in recent years.
– London Ackermann has 459 digs, which are the most in a season since Jordan McCullers tallied 487 in 2010.
– Sydney Wilson’s 118 total blocks are the most by a Yellow Jacket since Annie Czarnecki had 123 in 2012.
– Teegan Van Gunst’s 443 kills are the most by a Jacket since Monique Mead tallied 459 in the 2012 season.
