THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s cross country continues their streak of being ranked in the USTFCCCA Poll. Tech women have been ranked in the USTFCCCA Poll for the past 10 polls dating back to the 2019 preseason poll. The Jackets come in at No. 29 in this ranking. Tech women were ranked fourth in the south region and the men were ranked seventh in the south region. This is a one spot increase for the men from the preseason rankings.
The White and Gold come off a strong performance at the Kennesaw State Opener. The women had four of the top five finishers. Sarah Copeland was named ACC Women’s Co-Freshman of the Week after her performance at the Kennesaw State Opener. Nicole Fegans led the pack finishing first at the Kennesaw State Opener with a time of 13:51.19. Liz Galarza (14:17.73), Copeland (14:19.16), Claire Moritz (14:19.40) and Katy Earwood (15:01.54) round out Tech scorers.
The men had 10 of the top 13 finishers at the Kennesaw State Opener. James Cragin finished first on the men’s side with a time of 18:22.38. John Higginbotham (18:27.14), Zach Jaegar (18:34.42), Henrik Anderson (18:37.75), and Joshua Williams (18:43.81) round out the scorers.
The next meet for Georgia Tech cross country is in St. Paul, Minn. at the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday, Sept. 24.
