USC-Michigan Baseball Delayed, to Resume at 6 p.m. ET

June 5, 2005

ATLANTA – The NCAA Atlanta Regional baseball game between South Carolina and Michigan has been delayed by thunderstorms moving through the area, and will be resumed at 6 p.m. Eastern time.

The first possible championship game between Georgia Tech and the winner of the USC-Michigan game will still be played today and begin 50 minutes after the conclusion of USC-Michigan, sometime around 7:30 p.m. barring further delays.

The Gamecocks held a 4-3 lead with two out and one on in the bottom of the eighth inning when lightning and a downpour caused the game to be halted at 2:28 p.m. The loser of the game will be eliminated, while the winner will face Tech.

Fans with a ticket for the USC-Michigan game will be re-admitted to the stadium, but a separate ticket will be required for the Tech game following.

Both games are being televised by ESPNU.
