Two Georgia Tech Volleyball Signees Earn National Accolades

Jan. 24, 2006

Two Georgia Tech volleyball signees in the class of 2006 have added awards to their already impressive high school careers. Middle blockers Erin Birmingham (Kansas City, Mo.) and Brittany Roderick (Orlando, Fla.), who will join the Yellow Jackets this fall, were both named as PrepVolleyball.com High School All-Americans.

This marks the second year that Birmingham has received the distinction of earning PrepVolleyball.com All-American honors after being named to the same list in 2004. She was also recently named as the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Missouri and was a major factor in helping Park Hill South to a third place finish at the state tournament.

A first-team all-state selection in 2004 and 2005, Roderick helped lead Lake Highland Prep to two state titles during her career. She earns PrepVolleyball.com All-American honors for the first time in her career after being named as a “Top 150” prospect on the Senior Aces List by the same organization.
