ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s Cameron Tringale and Chesson Hadley both were named Thursday to the Division I PING All-South Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
PING All-Region teams consist of the top 15 individuals in their region in the Individual Ranking System. Additionally, any player ranked in the top 75 according to Golfstat or the Sagarin rankings not included in their region’s top 15 are added to their All-Region team. Members of the PING All-Region teams are eligible for PING All-America honors.
Both players were named this year to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team and were on the watch list for the Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus Awards. Hadley, a sophomore from Raleigh, N.C., is the nation’s 9th-ranked player in the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index and the Golfstat Cup, while Tringale, a junior from Laguna Niguel, Calif., is No. 46 in the Sagarin Index and No. 61 in the Golfstat Cup.
Hadley won the Carpet Capital Collegiate to begin the fall schedule and finished in the top 20 in 10 of 11 events. Tringale posted nine top-20 finishes, including a tie for third at the Brickyard Collegiate for his best effort.
