THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track & field earned seven All-ACC Academic Team Honors for the 2021-22 Indoor Track and Field season, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Sarah Copeland, Nicole Fegans, Sheleah Harris, Zach Jaeger, Olivia Moore, Shanty Papakosta and John Watkins were named to the 2021-22 team.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 GPA in the previous semester and cumulatively over one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered when selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Fegans was a first team All-ACC selection in the 3000m during the indoor track & field season while also earning All-American honors in the event.
Jaeger (mile), Moore (pole vault), Papakosta (high jump) and Watkins (triple jump) all earned second team All-ACC honors during the indoor track & field season.
The Yellow Jackets also racked up weekly conference honors. Harris won ACC women’s track performer of the week on Jan. 11 when she ran the fastest 60m time in the conference.
Tech has continued this athletic success into the outdoor season with two more performer of the week honors coming from Fegans and Jaeger. Fegans currently possesses the fastest 10k time in the ACC, third fastest in the nation. Jaeger ran the 1500m to earn his performer of the week honor posting the best time in the ACC at the time.
The White and Gold will be back in competition on Friday at the Auburn War Eagle Invitational in Auburn, Ala.
