Tech's Massey and Madere Lead Jackets on Day One of Meyo Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind.– Seniors Dore’ Madere and Eric Massey posted top-10 finishes in the weight throw to lead the men’s and women’s track and field teams at the Meyo Invitational on Friday night. The indoor track meet will conclude on Saturday afternoon.

Madere finished fourth in the women’s weight throw with a toss of 53’11.75″ and Massey finished 10th in the men’s weight throw with a throw of 54’2.75″.

Junior Chaunte Howard tallied a mark of 19’3.50″ to finish in a tie for seventh place to lead the 18th-ranked Yellow Jackets in the women’s long jump.

Rounding out top-10 finishes for Tech on day one of competition was senior Jennifer Lentz. The Brevard, N.C., native posted a time of 1:16.49 in the women’s 500-meter dash to finish in ninth place.
