ATLANTA – For their final meet of the 2010-11 regular season, the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host Darton College on Senior Day, Saturday, January 29 at 11 a.m. at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
Senior Day activities will begin at 10:40 a.m. as the 16 graduating seniors will be honored in a ceremony prior to the meet.
“I am both happy and sad for the senior day coming up on Saturday,” said Head Coach Courtney Shealy Hart. “This class has meant so much to Georgia Tech Swimming and Diving both in and out of the pool and their presence will be greatly missed.”
The Jackets are coming off of an impressive showing on the weekend of January 14 and 15 where they dominated Davidson College collecting 21 first place finishes en route to the Friday Night victory while falling in a close meet with ACC foe North Carolina State on Saturday afternoon.
The meet will be the final tune up for the Jackets before the 2011 ACC Championships which will take place at the GT Aquatic Center from January 16-19 and 23-26.
“This is the last meet before the championships,” continued Hart “so we are looking to sharpen up in each of our events. The ACC Championships is what we have been working towards all season long.”
