Tech Swimming & Diving Earns Scholar All America Team Award

March 6, 2012

ATLANTA – Both Georgia Tech men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams have been honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America as a Scholar All America Team for the Fall 2011 semester.

The Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

“I am very proud of our team,” said head coach Courtney Shealy Hart. “We put a strong emphasis on academics and it paid off. Georgia Tech is a demanding academic institution, so this award means a great deal to our team.”

The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).

The College Swimming Coaches Association is the oldest coaches organization in America. In addition to Scholar All American Awards, the CSCAA recognizes All American Swimmers and Divers at the national championships every year.
