Tech Set to Compete at Lehigh and Alexander/Asics

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech cross country teams will split the weekend with competition at the Lehigh Paul Short Run on Friday, Sept. 30 in Bethlehem, Pa. and at the Alexander/Asics Invite on Saturday, Oct. 1 in Fairburn, Ga.

At the Lehigh Paul Short Run, the men are set to run in the college gold 8K race at 11 a.m. and the women will compete in the college gold 6K race at 11:45 a.m. The women’s squad features several top performers including Liz Galarza, Helena Lindsay and Kate Jortberg. The men’s group is comprised of standouts with John Higinbotham, James Cragin and Nick Nyman set to compete. The teams will be racing against several ACC foes including Duke, North Carolina and Wake Forest.

At the Alexander/Asics Invite, the college men’s 8K race will start at 7:50 a.m. and the college women’s 5K race will follow with a start time of 9 a.m. While a large portion of the team will be at Lehigh, Tech’s team for the Alexander/Asics Invite will include several seasoned runners such as Tristan Autry, Erin Fegans, Charlie Smith, Ashley Sechrest and Alex Thomas.
