June 19, 2008

ATLANTA, Ga., June 19, 2008 – The Georgia Institute of Technology today announced that athletics director Dan Radakovich, Jr. has signed a new five-year employment agreement. The contract, effective July 1, is the outcome of a two-year performance review which was part of Radakovich’s previous employment contract.

Under the new terms, the Institute will pay Radakovich an annual salary of $300,000.

In addition, Radakovich will earn supplemental income paid by the Georgia Tech Athletic Association. This compensation includes promotional work including radio, television and speaking engagements. The supplemental income payments will be $260,000 in the first year, and increase by $20,000 annually through the completion of the contract to $340,000 in 2012.

Under the terms of his previous contract, last year Radakovich earned $477,000.

During his tenure, Radakovich has opened new lines of communication that have made Tech athletics more visible, open and accessible than ever before. His accomplishments include financial reforms that have put Georgia Tech athletics on a sound financial footing, academic initiatives that have aligned student athlete academic rules with the general student population, and the hiring of Paul Johnson as head football coach. In addition, capital improvements are underway that will complete a new softball complex and basketball practice facility by 2009.
