THE FLATS – Several Georgia Tech prospects are among the players that could hear their names called during the 2023 National Football League Draft, which begins with the first round on Thursday night in Kansas City.

The Yellow Jackets’ most highly touted NFL prospect is defensive end Keion White. Ranked by the vast majority of draft pundits as a likely first- or second-round selection, White could become Georgia Tech’s first first-round pick since defensive end Derrick Morgan (Tennessee Titans) and wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (Denver Broncos) were selected with the 16th and 22nd overall picks, respectively, in 2010. Tech has not had a player selected as high as the second round since defensive tackle Adam Gotsis in 2016 (63rd overall pick – Broncos).

Other Jackets that could hear their names called this weekend include linebacker Charlie Thomas, wide receiver/tight end E.J. Jenkins, linebacker Ayinde Eley, wide receiver Malachi Carter and running back Hassan Hall. Those who are not drafted will almost certainly have suitors as free agents immediately following the conclusion of the draft on Saturday evening.

The 2023 NFL Draft begins at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, followed by the second and third rounds on Friday beginning at 7 p.m. ET and concluding with the fourth-through-seventh rounds on Saturday beginning at noon ET. Live coverage is available on NFL Network, ABC, ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
