ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech softball team (9-4) will host the 14th Annual Atlanta Marriott Buzz Classic Tournament, March 3-5, at the Al Bishop Softball Complex in Marietta, Ga. The Yellow Jackets will face Austin Peay, Connecticut, East Tennessee State and Marshall in pool play.
There will be 25 teams in the tournament with five pools of five teams. The top two finishers in each pool, plus three at-large teams, will compete in bracket play beginning Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Pool play will get underway at 11 a.m. on Friday morning.
Tech will face East Tenneessee State at 1 p.m. and Marshall at 3 p.m. on Friday. The Jackets will wrap-up pool play on Saturday against Austin Peay (1 p.m.) and UConn (4 p.m.). The top three seeds from the tournament will receive a bye into the quarterfinals on Sunday at 9 a.m. The semifinals will take place at 11 a.m. and a championship game at 1 p.m.
Ticket prices for the event are as follows: Adults: $13 – entire tournament, $8 – 2 day pass, $5 – 1 day pass; Kids: $8 – entire tournament, $5 – 2 day pass, $3 – 1 day pass
