Tech Doubles Team Earns ACC Weekly Award

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech’s Andres Martin and Keshav Chopra have been named the ACC Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Last weekend, the Jackets concluded regular season competition at Virginia Tech and Virginia and finished 1-1 with a victory over the Hokies.

Tech’s win over Virginia Tech was largely due to the team clinching the doubles point. Martin and Chopra aided Tech in winning the doubles point with a dominating 6-1 upset over Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback, who were ranked 20th in the NCAA.

The two juniors began playing doubles together late in the season. However, the duo is unbeaten in dual match play and on a four-match winning streak. In the latest ITA Rankings, Martin and Chopra were listed at No. 45 on the doubles list which is their first ranking as a pair this season.
