THE FLATS – Senior Ruben Lechuga has been named ACC Men’s Diver of the Week and junior Anna Bradescu earned ACC Women’s Co-Diver of the Week honors, as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Tuesday.
In the first meet of the 2022-23 season, Lechuga and Bradescu helped Tech in their win over Emory with first-place finishes in the men’s and women’s diving events.
Lechuga broke not one, but two school records on Saturday. He won the 1 Meter dive with a score of 402.60 points which bested a Tech record set back in 2012. Lechuga’s performance in the 3 Meter dive capped off a successful meet for the senior, finishing with a first-place score of 439.58 points.
Bradescu started off strong with a successful performance in the women’s 1 Meter dive and tallied a winning score of 298.99 points. In the 3 Meter dive, the junior claimed her second victory of the day with a final score of 292.58 points.
