THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team (7-5, 0-0 ACC) finished its Sunday doubleheader with a 5-2 loss to No. 13 Georgia (4-3, 0-0 SEC) and a 7-0 win against the Citadel (3-10, 0-0 SoCon).
TECH vs. GEORGIA
To start off the match, the Jackets claimed the doubles point with back-to-back wins. No. 60 Andres Martin and Marcus McDaniel earned their second upset of the weekend with a 6-2 victory over Georgia’s No. 24 Quinn and Bryde. Brandon McKinney and Rohan Sachdev secured the doubles point for Tech with a 6-4 win over Georgia’s Croyder and Johnston.
McDaniel was the lone Jacket to win a singles match. For the second time this weekend, an unranked McDaniel took down a Top 20 opponent. He defeated Georgia’s No. 8 Henning in a 6-3, 6-4 decision.

TECH vs. THE CITADEL
The Jackets secured their second doubles point of the day with two quick victories. McDaniel and Robert Bauer claimed the first doubles win over the Citadel’s Bencedic and Hendrix in a 6-1 decision. Keshav Chopra and Elias Shokry also defeated their opponent, Shoemake and Kamieniecki, 6-1.
Every Tech player earned a win in singles play which allowed the team to claim a 7-0 victory. McDaniel improved to 3-0 on the weekend and 10-1 in dual match play after his 6-0, 6-2 win over the Citadel’s Shoemake. No. 63 Martin’s 6-3, 6-0 victory over the Citadel’s Bencedic helped him improve to 9-3 in dual match singles play.
