Tech-Clemson to Kick Off at 3:30; Tech-FSU Rescheduled for Dec. 1

Sept. 17, 2001

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s Sept. 29 game with Clemson will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. and be regionally televised by ABC, while the Yellow Jackets’ game at Florida State, which was postponed last week, has been rescheduled for Dec. 1 at a time to be determined, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Monday.

The Clemson game will be the third scheduled appearance for the 10th-ranked Yellow Jackets on ABC, which televised the Kickoff Classic game with Syracuse and will air the Nov. 24 Georgia game at 8 p.m. It also brings to seven the number of scheduled TV appearances for Tech this season.

The Georgia Tech Athletic Association will enact some stricter security measures for the Clemson game next Saturday in light of last week’s terrorist attacks. Backpacks will not be allowed in Bobby Dodd Stadium, and the Athletic Association reserves the right to search other types of bags. Fans are also reminded that the following items are prohibited: food, alcohol, bottles, cans, thermos bottles, artificial noisemakers, umbrellas and stadium seats with arms. The GTAA reserves the right to refuse admission to or eject any person whose conduct is disruptive or dangerous.

The Athletic Association deeply appreciates the patience and continued support of its fans during these times.

The kickoff time and television for the Florida State game will be announced at a later date. Fans holding tickets to the originally scheduled game on Sept. 15 will be able to use them on Dec. 1.

The ACC also announced that the Clemson-Duke game postponed from Saturday has also been rescheduled for Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. Other games postponed from last week include West Virginia at Maryland, which will be played Sept. 29, Northern Illinois at Wake Forest, which will be played Nov. 23 or 24,Ohio at NC State, which will be played Nov. 24. Penn State at Virginia and SMU at North Carolina both have been rescheduled for Dec. 1.
