Ellie Cantkier is in her sixth year with Georgia Tech men’s basketball. She was promoted into her newest role following the 2018 season after spending the previous two years as the program’s administrative coordinator. Cantkier is one of nine women in the fifteen ACC schools who currently serves in a men’s basketball support staff role.
In her current role, Cantkier assists with a multitude of projects throughout the year, including operational oversight of the men’s basketball budget, donor and alumni relations, as well as the day-to-day schedule for head coach Josh Pastner. In addition, she handles all team travel plans and logistics and works with fans and charitable organizations. Cantkier serves as the department liaison for the men’s basketball program throughout the Georgia Tech Athletics Association.
Cantkier comes from a human resources background, having received her PHR (Professional of Human Resources) certification from SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) in 2001. She joined Georgia Tech Athletics in March 2015 in a human resources capacity before joining the men’s basketball staff in June 2016. Prior to human resources, Cantkier worked in management for ten years within the hospitality industry.
Cantkier, a native of Houston, Texas, holds a degree in psychology from the University of Houston. She has two sons, Emmett and Evan.
