As A Junior In 2011-12: Bettered five different career best times during his junior season… Finished 18th at the ACC Championship in the 100 back with a career-best time of 49.43… Picked up a 26th-place finish in the 200 back at the ACC Championship (1:49.26)… Was 27th in the 50 free at the GT Invitational in a season-best time of 21.50… Recorded a career-best time of 1:43.02 during a third-place finish in the 200 free versus Emory… His career-best 100 back time was set at the ACC Championship on the lead-off leg of the 400 medley relay.
As A Sophomore In 2010-11: Notched four career bests at the ACC Championships in the 50 free (21.33 seconds), the 100-Free (46.50), the 50 back (23.18), and the 100 back (50.42) where he finished in 22nd place … Also a member of the 200 medley relay team that set the third fastest time in school history with a time of 1:28.46 … Earned a season best time of 1:56.19 in the 200 back at NC State … Set a season best in the 100 fly at the 2010 Georgia Tech Invitational with a time of 51.46 seconds.
Before Georgia Tech: Played football for two years at Presbyterian College earning Dean[apos]s list honors in each of his three semesters enrolled at PC.
High School: Was a four-year letterwinner for Coach Huddleston at Habersham Central High School where he was All-State in swimming and MVP of his swim team … was also a part of the varsity football team for three seasons under the direction of Gene Cathcart as the quarterback earning All-State and MVP honors.
Personal: Born Thomas Lawrence Hatchett III on October 25, 1989 in St. Petersburg, Fla. … Parents are Thomas and Nora Hatchett … Is one of six siblings … Chose Tech because of it[apos]s academics, coaching staff and swim team … Enjoys hunting, anything outdoors and snowboarding in his free time … Started swimming at the age of 7 and his first swim meet was in the Georgia Tech pool when it was still outdoors … Plans to major in Biology and would like to be a doctor.
