Renaud Eliminated from All-American Championship

Prequalifying Singles Draw | Riviera/ITA Central

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Georgia Tech women’s tennis freshman Johnnise Renaud fell to Georgia’s Mariana Gould in the first round of the pre-qualifying singles draw at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championship.

Renaud took the lead in the first set against Gould, 6-4. Gould came back win set two, 6-4, and then set three, 6-4, to advance to the second round.

Renaud and Gould are both freshman at their respective schools. Renaud was ranked number seven on the ITA Preseason Newcomer/Freshman Rankings.

Next up for Georgia Tech, freshman Paige Hourigan and sophomore Rasheeda McAdoo will travel to Athens, Ga. to compete in the Bulldog Tennis Classic on Oct. 10. The Yellow Jackets will then host the ITA Southeast Regionals from Oct. 17-20 at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
