ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Freshman second baseman Eric Patterson, a first-team selection, led a group of five Georgia Tech baseball players selected to the 2002 All-Atlantic Coast Conference baseball team as announced by the league office on Saturday evening.
Patterson becomes only the second Yellow Jacket in school history to be named to the first-team as a freshman.
Juniors Jeff Watchko and Tyler Parker were joined by sophomores Kyle Bakker and Matt Murton as second-team All-ACC selections.
The 14-player all-conference team is selected by a vote of the leagues nine head coaches.
The 2002 ACC Player, Rookie and Coach of the Year will be released on Monday, May 27.
