Full Collegiate Baseball All-America Teams
THE FLATS – Georgia Tech baseball sophomore catcher Kevin Parada (Pasadena, Calif./Loyola) started this year where he left off, earning second-team all-American honors from Collegiate Baseball, it was announced Tuesday.
Parada was a consensus freshman all-American last season after making 48 starts behind the dish and leading the ACC in hitting the entire first half of the season. He would inevitably “cool” slightly to finish top 20 in the league with a team-best .318, becoming the first freshman to lead Georgia Tech in hitting since Matt Murton in 2001.
The California native also led the ACC with 20 doubles on the season, and recorded four four-hit games on the season – only two other ACC players had three games.
Parada was lauded for his freshman campaign, being named a freshman all-American by D1Baseball, Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game, as well as ABCA/Rawlings All-Southeast Region second-team, third-team all-ACC and the ACC’s all-freshman team. He was also selected to be a member of the 2021 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team last summer.
He returns to No. 11-ranked Georgia Tech baseball as one of the top MLB prospects as a draft-eligible sophomore, leading a deeply talented Yellow Jacket roster. In total, Tech sports seven players ranked in Perfect Game’s top 300 MLB prospects and four in D1Baseball’s top 100 prospects list.
