THE FLATS – No. 31 Andres Martin fell Friday in the Round of 16 at ITA All-American Championships to Gabriel Diallo of Kentucky, 7-6, 6-3.
Martin fought hard for the first set jumping out to a 4-2 lead. He broke Diallo’s serve twice to jump out to the 4-2 lead before having his serve broken in game seven. Following game seven, both men held their serve until the final tiebreaker which Diallo managed to take.
The second set saw Diallo jump out to a 4-1 game lead. Martin pushed Diallo to the edge in multiple games but both sides ultimately held their serves for the remaining games resulting in the 6-3 win for Diallo.
