>> No. 20 Georgia Tech continues its seven-game season-opening homestand by welcoming cross-town rival Georgia State on Tuesday at Russ Chandler Stadium.

>> First pitch is set for 4 p.m. and the game can be seen live on RamblinWreck.com, while Nolan Alexander and Wiley Ballard have the call on WREK 91.1 FM Atlanta.

>> Behind ACC Pitcher of the Week Buck Farmer, who fanned 14 on Friday, the Yellow Jackets swept Akron this past weekend in Atlanta. Farmer was also named a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week for his career-best 14 K effort in the 3-0 win.

>> The Panthers are 2-1 after three shoot outs with Butler this past weekend in Panthersville. Although Tech leads the all-time series with State, 57-10, four of GSU’s wins in the series have come since 2007.

>> Following Tuesday’s game, Tech remains home to host St. John’s in a three-game series this weekend, a Super Regional team in 2012.

>> Georgia Tech is ranked in all four major polls this week. The Jackets were also ranked the preseason Top 25, marking the 20th time under head coach Danny Hall that Tech was ranked in at least one preseason poll. Tech was a preseason pick by the ACC coaches to finish second to North Carolina in the Coastal Division.

>> In his 20th season on the Flats, Coach Hall is 15th among active Division I coaches in wins (1,028).
