>> No. 14 Georgia Tech is home for the first time in Atlantic Coast Conference play, welcoming the Boston College Eagles to Russ Chandler Stadium for a three-game series that begins Friday.
>> All three games can be heard on WREK 91.1 FM in Atlanta with Nolan Alexander and Wade Rogers on the call, while RamblinWreck.com will have live video all weekend.
>> The Yellow Jackets have won five-consecutive ACC home-opening series, and four of the last five have been sweeps.
>> Tech enters the weekend with one of the most feared lineups in the nation with eight everyday starters hitting .283 or better. The Jackets are second nationally in batting average at .345, second in runs (158), third in hits (201) and third in slugging percentage (.497). Tech leads the ACC in each of those categories.
>> Senior CF Brandon Thomas is coming off a sizzling week that saw him hit .611 (11-for-18), with six RBI, eight runs, four doubles, three walks, a stolen base and did not strike out. He is riding an eight-game hitting streak (hitting .515 in the streak) and is one of two Jackets to reach base in every game this season.
>> Senior Buck Farmer puts his 3-0 record and the ACC’s best ERA of 0.33 on the line Friday night in the series opener. Farmer has won six of his last seven decisions dating back to last season. He ranks sixth all-time at Tech with 302 career strikeouts.
>> Tech leads the all-time series with Boston College 13-7, but is looking for some redemption after the Eagles took two of three in Chestnut Hill last season.
