Postgame Notes
Team Notes
- Georgia Tech fell to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
- Georgia Tech’s four-game losing streak is its longest since it lost its last six games of 2021, the season prior to Brent Key taking over as the Yellow Jackets’ interim head coach in 2022.
- With the loss, Georgia Tech will not qualify for a bowl game for the first time in Key’s four full seasons as head coach.
- The loss was Georgia Tech’s third-straight to Louisville and dropped the Yellow Jackets to 2-3 all-time against the Cardinals.
- Until Georgia Tech’s final possession of the first half, the Yellow Jackets were being outgained, 306-66. The Jackets outgained Louisville by a 284-150 margin over the remainder of the game.
- Georgia Tech finished with 109 rushing yards, a week after rushing for 95 yards at Pittsburgh. It marks the first time since Oct. 19 and Oct. 26, 2024 that Georgia Tech has rushed for less than 100 yards in consecutive games (64 yds. vs. Notre Dame, 96 yds. at Virginia Tech).
- After not forcing a turnover in its first four games of the season against NCAA Division I FBS opponents, Georgia Tech has forced five turnovers in the last four games, including four in the last two games.
Individual Notes
- WR Dalen Penson caught 5 passes for 66 yards, which marked the seventh time in nine games this season that Penson had at least 50 receiving yards.
- WR Isaiah Fuhrmann’s 10-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter was his first at Georgia Tech and the 11th of his collegiate career. Fuhrmann caught 10 touchdown passes in two seasons at Elon (2024-25), including nine as a sophomore last season.
- Fuhrmann’s four receptions and 37 receiving yards were both his highs at Georgia Tech (prev.: two receptions for 27 yards, both twice, most recently at Virginia Tech – Oct. 17).
- Fifth-year TE Chris Corbo’s 11-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter was his first at Georgia Tech and the 14th of his collegiate career. Corbo caught 13 touchdown passes in four seasons at Dartmouth (2022-25).
- Fifth-year LS Ronnie Thomas’ fumble recovery on a muffed punt by Louisville in the first quarter was the first of his career.
- DE Taje McCoy’s team-high 8 tackles were his second-most of the season (prev.: 11 vs. Colorado – Sept. 3).
