THE FLATS – Georgia Tech’s Albert Hansson has been voted the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Golfer of the Month as announced by the league office on Friday afternoon. Hansson recorded two top-10 finishes, including a tournament title, while helping the Yellow Jackets win their second tournament of the season during the month of October.
Hansson, a native of (Fiskebäckskil, Sweden), opened the month finishing ninth at Georgia Tech’s home tournament, the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational. Behind rounds of 68-70-72, Hansson took home his second top-10 finish of the season at the time, while helping the Yellow Jackets capture the team victory. The final Jacket on the course as Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern battled for the team title, Hansson secured the team win holding for par on 18 as the Yellow Jackets claimed a one-stroke victory for their second tournament title of the season.
Just two weeks later, Hansson won his second collegiate career title by six strokes at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational to conclude the fall season. Behind three subpar rounds of 65-67-64, Hansson turned in a 54-hole total of 196 (-20) for the top individual honors. Hansson’s performance helped Georgia Tech to a runner-up finish (824, -40), just missing their third title by two strokes to team champion, No. 3 Auburn (822, -42).
Earning a starting spot in all five tournaments this fall season, Hansson has recorded three top-10 finishes to increase his career total to six. He closed the fall slate with a 69.13 scoring average.
This marks the first monthly award for Hansson, who was voted the 2025 ACC Freshman of the Year. He shares the month honor with Duke’s Carson Looney. Hansson is the second Yellow Jacket to collect ACC honors this season as freshman Max Emberson was named the ACC Golfer of the Month in September after winning his first two collegiate tournaments.
