Walker Named to Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Women's College Player of the Year Watch List

Preseason All-ACC selection adds another honor ahead of 2026-27 season

THE FLATS – Junior guard Talayah Walker tacked on another accolade Thursday, being named to the Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Women’s College Player of the Year Watch List ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The Preseason All-ACC selection is coming off a career year on The Flats, where she became the first player in program history to tally three 30-point games in a single season and was the first Yellow Jacket since 2015-16 season. She was named to the 2026 All-ACC First Team last season.

The Odenton, Md. native was also the first Jacket to have back-to-back 30-point games in ACC play since 1993, and she posted the longest streak of 20-point games by a Jacket in the last 23 years. Her 576 points were the most by a Yellow Jacket since the 2015-16 campaign.

She was pivotal in year one of the Karen Blair era last season, where Tech earned 10 wins on home court including a 95-90 victory over No. 18 Notre Dame.

Walker is one of 50 players named on the watch list, as well as one of 11 from the ACC and one of eight guards from the ACC.

Georgia Tech tips off the 2026-27 campaign Monday, Nov. 2 vs. Hofstra. Tip-off is set for 10:30 a.m. on ACC Network Extra.
