Beginning in 2027, 16 of the ACC’s 17 teams will play a nine-game conference schedule annually, which was part of the league’s 9+1 model that was announced last year. The 9+1 model has teams playing nine conference games and 10 total Power Four conference games each season. The one ACC team that plays an eight-game conference schedule each year is required to schedule two additional Power Four conference games in order to accommodate the 10 P4 game requirement.
Georgia Tech’s previously announced ACC opponents in 2027 remain largely unchanged, with Cal and Virginia remaining on the Yellow Jackets’ home slate, and Tech traveling to Florida State, Miami (Fla.), SMU and Wake Forest. The Jackets’ previously announced home dates with North Carolina and Syracuse have been replaced by Pitt and Virginia Tech coming to Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field, while a trip to Boston College will be Tech’s ninth conference game.
In order to accommodate the ninth conference game, the ACC no longer has Georgia Tech traveling to Notre Dame as a part of the league’s scheduling agreement with the Fighting Irish next season. The Yellow Jackets’ 2027 three-game non-conference slate now includes a trip to Tennessee and home games versus Hampton and archrival Georgia.
