Fort Worth, Texas – Bartley Forrester notched his sixth career top-10 finish and fifth in the last two years, after carding a 2-over-par 72 in the final round of the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational and tying for sixth place. Georgia Tech, meanwhile, shot a 5-over-par team score of 285 Tuesday and finished in a tie for 12th place in its third event of the fall season.
The senior from Gainesville, Ga., who held the 36-hole lead by one shot, aiming for his third career victory, posted a 54-hole total of 206 (-4), four strokes off the lead.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Oct. 21-23, concluding their fall campaign by hosting the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational at its home course in Alpharetta, Ga.
TECH LINEUP – Christo Lamprecht set the pace for the Yellow Jackets in Tuesday’s final round, recording four birdies and one bogey on the way to a 3-under-par 67 as Tech posted a 5-over-par team total of 285. Forrester and Connor Howe each shot 2-over-par 72, while freshman Aidan Tran added a 4-over 74. Freshman Hiroshi Tai shot 75 and did not count toward the team score.
Lamprecht, coming off a victory in the Jackets’ most recent outing at the Inverness Intercollegiate, tied for 27th place individually at 212 (+2), while Tran and Tai tied for 65th at 220 (+10) and Howe tied for 74th at 224 (+14).
