Lahtinen, Love Named to All-ACC Academic Team

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech guards Lotta-Maj Lahtinen and Eylia Love earned places on the 2021-22 All-ACC Women’s Basketball Academic Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. The team features 43 student-athletes, with at least one from each of the ACC’s 15 programs.

The accolade is the third for Lahtinen and first for Love. Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The team’s leading scorer, averaging 10.9 points per game, Lahtinen started 31 games for the Yellow Jackets and was second on the team in assists (130) and steals (43). She joined the prestigious 1,000-career points club during her senior campaign, becoming the 33^rd player in Georgia Tech women’s basketball history to reach the milestone. This past season, Lahtinen scored in double figures in 17 games and led the Jackets in scoring in nine outings.

Love earned a starting role her sophomore season, making the start in 31 games and appearing in all 32. She was one of four Yellow Jackets to average double-figures on the season, finishing third on the team with a 10.5 points per game average. Love produced 16 games scoring in double figures, including scoring a career-high 26 points against Clemson in February. She recorded her first career double-double against Syracuse with 13 rebounds and 10 points.

Lahtinen and Love were key factors in helping Georgia Tech to its second-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2022, and 11th overall.
