THE FLATS – Georgia Tech Swimming and Diving signed 13 swimmers and divers to the roster over the past week.
The 13 swimmers and divers include one Olympian, four high school state champions and four swimmers who already posses record breaking personal bests.
Deniz Ertan comes to Tech from Anakara, Turkey. Ertan joins a list of notable Turkish swimmers on The Flats. She swam at 2020 Tokyo Olympics for Turkey joining fellow Turkish 2020 Olympians at Georgia Tech, Batur Ünlü, Berke Saka, and Defne Taçyildiz. Ertan is a distance swimmer who competed in the 800 and 1500 free at the Olympics.

The 2021 state championship for Louisiana starts on Nov. 17.
The third high school state champion comes from Ohio. Caroline Porterfield. Porterfield took home the Ohio state title in the 50 free (23.15). Her time at the Ohio State Championship meet would be good for eighth best in program history.
The final incoming Yellow Jacket to hold a state title is Nils Bognar. He took home the state titles in the 200 IM (1:55.21) and 100 back (51.13).
