Jackets Fall to No. 8 Georgia

Softball ends eight-game homestand, 6-2

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball (14-8) fell to No. 8 Georgia (19-2) 16-4 in the bottom of the sixth at Mewborn Field on Wednesday night.

Tech found its way onto the board in the bottom of the second. A fielder’s choice from junior Rebecca Prairie plated senior Katie Krzus for Tech’s first run of the game. Sophomore Breanna Roper doubled to right center, scoring freshman Bailee Zeitler to bring the tally to 7-2. A double off the bat of junior Crosby Huckabay brought in Prairie and Roper, moving the score to 7-4.

The Yellow Jackets kick off Atlantic Coast Conference action on the road in Blacksburg, Va., traveling to Virginia Tech for a three-game series. First pitch in game one is slated for 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra on Friday, March 8.
