THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s and women’s cross country head to Jamaica Plains, Mass., on Friday, Oct. 26 for the 2018 ACC Championships, which will be held at Franklin Park.
The women’s 6k begins at 10 a.m. followed by the men’s 8k at 11 a.m.
The ACC currently has five women’s teams in the nation’s top-30, including the No. 22 ranked Jackets. The ACC is led by No. 12 NC State, followed by No. 18 Notre Dame, No. 25 Syracuse and No. 29 Florida State. The women have had a historical season racking in three top-three finishes and four consecutive national rankings.
On the men’s side, defending ACC Champions, No. 10 Syracuse paces all men’s teams in the rankings followed by No. 14 Virginia and No. 15 Notre Dame.
Last year the men finished eighth overall at the conference championships, while the women placed 12th. Both teams look to make leaps on Friday having gained familiarity with the course earlier this season. Tech ran at Franklin Park for the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown where the women placed second and the men finished ninth.
