Mahoney Sets Tech Mile Record at Maine Distance Festival

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Georgia Tech All-American Brendon Mahoney clocked a time of 4:00.29 to post a school record in the mile Saturday at the New Balance Maine Distance Festival at Bowdoin College’s Whittier Field.

A junior, Mahoney eclipsed the former mark of 4:02.8 set in 1987 by current Tech cross country and women’s track and field head coach Alan Drosky.

Mahoney placed third in his section. Graham Hood of Canada finished first in the event with a time of 3:57.98.
