Lydia Troupe Qualifies for 400m Hurdles Finals at ACCs

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track & field competed at day one of the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday. Lydia Troupe turned in a time of 1:00.14 in the women’s 400m hurdles to qualify for the finals on Saturday.

Troupe’s time was a personal best and second best in her heat. It would be good for fourth overall in the prelims, qualifying her for Saturday’s finals at 7 p.m.

In the women’s pole vault, Olivia Moore narrowly missed All-ACC honors when she placed seventh with a mark of 4.09m (13’5”).

The Yellow Jackets had many personal bests on the night. Mary Kathryn Knott turned in a personal best in the women’s 10000m with a time of 35:14.07, Onyinye Chukka posted a personal best mark of 5.91m (19’ 4 ¾”) in the women’s long jump and Claire Moritz clocked a personal best in the 1500m with a time of 4:33.96.

The White and Gold continue ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championship Competition with day two. Athletes to watch include John Watkins in the triple jump and Taylor Grimes in the 100m hurdles who both rank in the top ten in their respective events.
